Candy Uskoski has lived in the dike lands outside of Clatskaniefor nearly forty years. She has walked a million miles in the mint fields underthe summer sun, the pouring rain, even the dark of night. She has operated allkinds of farm equipment, homeschooled her kids, worked as an electricalengineer, and created a nationally distributed confection business. Not much of a traveler, Candy prefers quietly gardening, knitting, and critiquing sunsets from her little green cottage. She fervently believes that the world would be a better place if everyone spent time on their knees pulling weeds. And yes, “Candy” is an aptronym because Candy is rather good at making candy.
