Our last day of the market will include an apple pressing event on Sat, Sep 18th, 2021 from 10-2!
Do you have apples and don’t know what to do with them?
Then this is the day for you!
Bring your NO SPRAY apples and clean containers down to market and we’ll grind ’em up and press ’em for you! If you are able, please bring a $3-$10 donation per gallon of cider we press. All donations will go to the Clatskanie Farmers Market operational expenses.
No windfalls please (apples on the ground.)
We will be cleaning the grinders/presses in between batches and washing all apples.
Drop by the station to add your name to the queue and enjoy the last market day while you wait (we can not guarantee wait times)!
We will not be doing sampling at this event, however it’s still fun to come checkout the process even if you don’t have your own apples!
What to bring:
~ CLEAN APPLES that haven’t been sprayed and are harvested from the tree not the ground
~ CLEAN CONTAINERS, lots of them, like more then you think, apples make a lot of juice, and we won’t have extra containers on hand.
Please know that you will be receiving raw unpasteurized apple cider and therefore may contain harmful bacteria that can cause serious illness in children, the elderly, and persons with weakened immune systems. If you are concerned about this risk we encourage you to pasteurize your apple cider before consuming it.
