It looks like a busy weekend in Clatskanie! Pop over to the Farmer’s Market in Cope’s Park between the Bluegrass Festival, the Quilt Show and the Library Book Sale. So many things to do. The list of wonderful produce being sold at the Farmers’ Market is amazing: honey, peach crisp kits (including delicious peaches from the MacGregor farm), blackberries and blueberries, red/white/blue potatoes, baby carrots, cabbage, squash, green beans, cucumbers, peppers, beets, broccoli, cauliflower, garlic, cut flowers — the list goes on and on. Be sure to bring your Market bags!
There is always a variety of soap and lotion, jewelry, handmade toys and items for your home and garden. Don’t forget to pick up some rabbit berries and rabbit tea – these soil amendments have done wonders for my vegetable garden and indoor house plants.
There is some clever, humorous Clatskanie stationary. You’ll recognize the buildings that John Lillich has drawn and you can use it to write to friends. There is face painting and henna painting. Take time to browse, eat great food and chat with friends – there are so many fun things to see and buy at the Clatskanie Farmers’ Market this Saturday!
Saturday’s weather forecast is a sunny 78 degrees — perfect weather for a stroll in the Clatskanie Farmers’ Market anytime between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Join your friends and family in Cope’s park for delicious food to eat there while you listen to music by Victoria. Browse the local arts and crafts booths to check out what’s new.
Be sure to pick up some beautiful produce for the week ahead too. There is so much variety now! The gardeners continue working their soil to bring you lovely vegetables that they harvest just hours before the Market opens. This week we have cucumbers, squash, green beans, sprouts, garlic, beets, carrots, onions, cut flowers, broccoli, potatoes, radishes, cabbage, peas, herbs, lettuce and greens. And don’t forget to pick up eggs — chicken, quail and duck!
See you on Saturday!
